Immediate location - Capton, in the Parish of Dittisham, Near Dartmouth, Devon, UK

This is an unspoilt, rural hamlet of two or three dozen houses off the road from Dartmouth to Dittisham.
We are tucked away in an acre of grounds at the end of a 'cul-de-sac'.

In Capton there is a post-box, telephone kiosk, and milk delivery. There is no shop, no pub, no street lights and no through traffic!

 A good range of shops can be found in Dartmouth, 3 - 4 miles away. The nearest Post Office / shop (in the village of Dittisham 2 miles away) has an impressive range of goods and newspapers for such a small village. 

The nearest garages are at the top of the hill at Dartmouth (c. 3 miles) or in the other direction towards Totnes at Halwell (c. 5 miles).

The nearest Church is at Dittisham.

There is a brilliant choice of pubs / restaurants within a few minutes car journey: We can recommend some to you - we have tried them all!

General Location - South Hams and further afield

As Capton is only a mile or so from the main road to Dartmouth, all the attractions of the South Hams / South Devon are easily accessible:

Dartmouth (4 miles) with it's shops, castle and boating facilities

The South Devon Coastline, for spectacular walks and views

Blackpool Sands for a typical 'Day at the Seaside'

Slapton Ley nature reserve,

Dittisham village (3 miles), with it's narrow streets and passenger ferry accross the Dart to the birthplace of Agatha Christie.

Woodland Leisure Park (2 miles) - a good day out for youngsters.

Dartmoor for it's wilderness

Dartmouth Golf Course (3 miles), with excellant health / fitness facilities including a swimming pool.
